- Serve onto the board. The receiving team plays the ball after the bounce.
- Use up to three touches. Teammates alternate hits. Two hands are legal on one touch.
- Return from anywhere. There are no fixed sides once the rally starts.
- Argue clean. Good faith calls, replay disputed points, rulebook wins the close ones.
